Volunteer Training moved to October 3 at Butterfly Pavilion

Good Morning,


I really appreciate your interest in joining the upcoming Habitat Stewards/volunteer training. I don't have enough people signed up for this Sunday, so I am moving the kick-off to Sunday, October 3, 2-5 at the Butterfly Pavilion. I hope this will not deter your participation. Should the interest be strong enough I will offer a repeat kick-off later in the month of October as well. It will just depend on numbers.



I am really excited about this opportunity and the partners it is bringing together and the reach the volunteers will have. It should be very fun and productive. Regarding youth participation, I'd love to engage kids. Some of the trainings will better meet their needs than others-but this is set up for you to pick and choose from what interests you (youth included). The caveat per insurance requirements is that for every youth participant there must be someone over 18 attending/participating with them.



Along the lines of picking the trainings and opportunities that suit you, I'd like to point out that we have some collaborative opportunities on the calendar ahead of our kick off. I encourage you to check out the calendar on the blogsite at: http://nwfhabitatstewards.blogspot.com/ and if there is something there you'd like to join, please do. You will get credit even though it is before the "kick-off." If you have a chance to drop me a note that you are joining something ahead of kick-off, I'd love to hear about it. I have also put the volunteer application on the blogsite -so if you have not already completed it, you can pull it from there and send it in.
